#SMPWedding101 – Bridal Emergency Kit Must-Haves

With only two weeks before my very own wedding, I’d be lying if I said I was completely prepared. So when Sweet Chic Events shared their amazing list of bridal essentials for our latest #SMPWedding101, I instantly felt at ease. This list of must-haves is sure to solve any issue that may arise, and with this sigh of relief I can focus on what really matters – all the pretty we have coming up this weekend!

Bridal Emergency Kit Must-Haves

Safety Pins | For dress alterations in a pinch or to hold a wilting bouquet flower in its place.

Baby Wipes | Chances are you may be walking around taking pictures prior to your ceremony, which leads the the chance of your dress/train getting a bit dirty. Baby wipes are gentle enough for the fabric  – but do the trick!

Sewing Kit (with Pre-Threaded Needles!) | Buttons and hooks come loose, and it doesn’t take long to mend them – just make sure to have pre-threaded needles! Trying to stick a thread through the tiny needle while in rush and sweaty hands… not happening.

Chalk | A restaurant trick – use white chalk to get grease stains off your dress or your groom’s shirt!

Band-Aids | Lots of band-aids. Because we’re wearing heels (that are most likely new!).

Allergy Medicine | You may have asked your guests about food allergies – but not flower allergies!

Pain Relief | This goes along with the band-aids. Our feet hurt. Someone had too much to drink last night or hasn’t eaten enough today. No time for headaches!

Energy Bars | Of course you’ve ordered in some brunch for your wedding party while they’re getting ready (hint, hint) but if you’re getting ready early morning and your cocktail hour doesn’t start till 6 – it’s good to have snacks on hand.

Straws | Because no one wants to ruin lip stick – or spill!!

Crochet Hook Depending on what your dress looks like, you may have silk buttons that have to be looped all the way up the back. Speed up the intricate process by using a crochet hook to swoop those hooks over the buttons!

Static Guard | Bridesmaids dresses getting stuck in all the wrong places. A little spritz here and there on the fabric will help with the clingy-ness.

Lint RollerIt always seems that a little fuzz always seems to find it’s way to dark colors…

Extra Pair of Men’s Black Socks | Sometimes those men just don’t think about the details and bring white socks to wear with a black suit.

Double-Sided Tape | The miracle-worker. Can be used for many things through the day – but most importantly as fashion tape! Gaping on the bridesmaids dress? A few strips of double-sided tape should hold her in (at least through pictures and ceremony!)

Mints | A must before the ceremony begins!

ScissorsCutting off any loose threads or pesky tags.

HairsprayFly-away hairs: you can see them in pictures and we don’t want to!
