Romantic + Rustic Boca Raton Wedding

Speaking as a weekday Bride-to-be, I’m absolutely smitten with this Monday affair at The Addison. Straight from the lens of Starfish Studios, it’s romance meets traditional and every bit of it is beautiful. Overflowing with soft pastels and gorgeous garden roses, it’s a gallery that you shouldn’t be missed!

From the beautiful Bride… Harrison and I met during our second year at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. He saw me at the gym, found out we had some mutual friends and then arranged for my friends and I to come hangout with him and some of his roommates one night. After that, we started hanging out regularly and ended up dating on and off for three years. Harrison asked me to marry him in February of 2014, and we quickly decided that we wanted to get married within the same year. We both wanted to say “I Do” outside so we chose November in hopes of a perfect cool day in South Florida.

The Addison was the first and last venue we looked at! Right away we loved the atmosphere and energy of the Addison and knew it was where we would get married. It has so much character with all the beautiful archways, unique doors, warm colors and distinct architecture.

It was important for us to have the wedding reflect both of us and our personalities. I wanted a romantic, elegant feel with personal details that reflected both of us. I knew I wanted my bridesmaids in blush so I incorporated different shades of blush, metallics, and soft pastels into all the details and flowers.

My mom and I took a trip down the street from the Addison to try on gowns at Boca Raton Bridal and I ended up selected the third dress I tried on, although I did go to other bridal shops and tried on loads of gowns after finding “the one” just to be sure! It was an Eve of Milady ball gown with an all lace bodice and full tulle layered skirt. For my bridesmaids I chose long chiffon Amsale dresses in blush and let my girls choose whatever style top they liked best.

For the reception I collected mercury glass vases of different sizes and heights for months and used a small grouping of them on the tables for the centerpieces. That way each table was different, which was the look I was going for. Our florist, Lynne at Creative Florals, did a great job using an array of blush and neutral toned flowers with different greens which turned out beautifully. I originally planned on doing my own flowers, but am very glad I decided not to as some things should just be left to the professionals! However, I did enjoy doing other little details with my sisters. For the seating chart, we tied skeleton keys to pretty embossed tags with the guests name and table number on them. The wedding favors were small glass maple leaf containers with real maple syrup in them from Harrison’s family store in Vermont. In front of each place setting we had a thank you card printed for our family and friends who came from all over the U.S. to be with us, which we were extremely grateful for.

I loved every part of our wedding, but there are a few moments that really stood out to me when I reflect back on that day. The first was hearing Harrison say his vows to me at the altar- it was so special and meant so much to me. Another was during the ceremony when we all sang a hymn under the huge Banyan trees. It was a magical moment! Looking around and seeing all of your closest friends and family at the end of the ceremony and at the reception is another amazing feeling. Future brides- when you are at your reception sitting next to your new husband take at least a minute to just look around the room and take in everyone you love and how amazing it is that they are all there to support you. Also, if you get married at the Addison make sure to take the time to enjoy the food as it is absolutely incredible! The day went by so fast, but we both consider it the best day of our lives!
