Brunch is – without a doubt – my favorite weekend activity, so it comes as no surprise this colorful rooftop celebration is my cup of tea. From Bridal Bliss… We selected a brunch theme as the city of Portland is is very well known for their brunches. With patrons waiting in line for hours, we decided to skip the lines and bring a delicious brunch menu and atmosphere to a new venue in town. Washington High School, set to open it’s doors Spring of 2015, has an incredible roof top deck with a stunning view of Portland.
When planning the brunch we wanted to create a clean but festive feel with vibrant spring colors. Spring is a wonderful time of year in Portland and we wanted to capture the freshness and bring it to life. From personal mini cakes to crossword puzzles, we adorned the table with fun details wedding guests would enjoy.
From A Lovely Day… As a fun team of photographers, we loved the inspiration of a colorful brunch wedding. We wanted the photos to embody the same feeling as the best brunch you’ve ever had. Joyful, bright and happy, a brunch wedding on a rooftop deck brings smiles. We loved using a macro lens to capture the tiniest of details and we even braved a ladder on a roof for some great wide-angle images that truly showcase the magnificence of the venue. We loved the bright pops of pinks, blues and patterns and had a great time documenting all the thoughtful details.
From Zest Floral… When we think of a brunch wedding, we think of unique details combined with informal ambiance. For the flowers, our inspiration was to create a fresh and chic design that featured a splash of fun color, whimsical greenery and read wedding without looking like a typical wedding tablescape. We combined fluffy garden roses, roses, spray roses and hydrangeas with lush greenery and dainty ferns to create a full runner of fresh flowers cascading down both ends of the table. To blend the outdoor elegance with the laid back charm of the brunch theme; we used a floral color palette ranging from cream to blush and pops of vibrant pink. When accentuated by the beauty-filled view from Washington High School’s rooftop deck, the entire tablescape was simply stunning.
From Pearl Catering… At Pearl Catering we love serving fresh, local, fun bite size food. We loved the idea of a brunch inspired wedding since that is what Portland is known for. We deconstructed the already popular Chicken and Waffles and made them into bit size pieces – easy to eat at your table or walking around while mingling with your guests. Pancakes always give you the feeling of being at home with your family on a Sunday morning. We made bite size pieces so guests could still have a sense of a relaxed morning with family while enjoying a classy, formal lunch. The beautiful colors of black, red, and green inside the fruit shot help tie all the colors together.
