Romantic Country Chic Wedding

In my humble opinion, when it comes to country chic, no one does it better than the south. Especially when said southern affair is planned in the hands of JL Designs, every detail is downright pin-worthy. With a day crafted out of rustic touches and lots of love, the gallery from the lens of Heather Wall Photography is the perfect place to see it all!

From JL DesignsWhen Courtney came in to JL Designs to meet with us we knew immediately that we were going to work so well together. Courtney was a breath of fresh air to work with and through out her planning process she was a so relaxed and easy going. The Wedding Day was picture perfect and we were so thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with her.

From the beautiful Bride…Charlie and I met when we were fourteen years old at a youth co-op camp. After meeting and going our separate ways, we ran into each other again at a local football game. That sparked a flame and we began dating six months after officially meeting. We dated through high school, college and have been together through the start of our professional life. After eight years of dating, we finally decided it was time to get married and start a life together.

When Charlie proposed, not only was it an exciting time, but a year long process that involved both our families and closest friends. Everything about the proposal was eloquently thought out and planned. To my custom designed engagement ring to the beautiful bespoke sign that we used as a centerpiece for our wedding. Everything about the proposal was unique, intimate and the start to a beautiful life together.

Our inspiration for our wedding evolved the entire length of our engagement. We wanted a wedding that was not only traditional, but unique to whom we were as individuals and as well a couple. Charlie and I vary in our tastes and this is where we coined the term “Chic Meets Country”. The perfect representation of who we were as individuals and the idea that two opposite ideas could forge one beautiful union. As we looked for a venue, we did not want to imitate what everyone else was doing, but wanted a venue that meant something to us personally. We chose The Foster Farm Chapel in Monroe, Georgia because of the history it had with my family. I grew up as a neighbor to the farm, and as a little girl I often joked about getting married in the church that was on the farm. Little did I know that dream would become a breathtaking reality. We held the reception at a separate venue in the gorgeous downtown square of Madison, Georgia. The Tea Room and Garden would offer a vintage and sophisticated feeling to our intimate country ceremony.

Planning our wedding was a fun filled yet highly challenging time. With Charlie and I both being opinionated, perfectionists, we knew we had to find vendors that could envision our uniqueness and understand we were an out-of-the-box couple. We chose all local vendors from our community and it made it that much more special. Everything from the flowers to the decorations was absolutely breathtaking and custom designed to represent both Charlie and

myself and to reflect a crisp southern atmosphere.

We got married on October 18, 2014. As I look back on our wedding day, all I think about is how calm I was, (I was so calm, I did all the make-up for all my bridal party) and how it just felt right. The first time I saw Charlie, I knew I was right at the place, marrying the right person-a person who foremost loves God and undoubtedly loves me with all his heart and soul.
