A soiree sprinkled with sweet personal touches is a wedding after my own heart. A day like this one, planned and designed by A Savvy Event with dazzling details from start to finish and a darling duo at the center of it all—the Bride donning a glittery gold dress from BHLDN and the Groom in a rather dashing cowboy hat. ART IS FOR LOVERS and Lovespun Films captured it all in the gallery and film below!

From A Savvy Event... Audrey and Matt knew from the moment they were engaged that they wanted a wedding with personalized details, some true Southern charm and—what else? Fun and festive confetti. They were married July 26th at the Ahmanson Ranch in Santa Monica Mountains of Calabasas, and, since most of their guests were from out of town, the couple was particularly excited about treating their closest family and friends to an historical venue, completely unique to Los Angeles (scenes from Gone with the Wind were filmed at the ranch).

One of our favorite parts of working with Audrey and Matt was that, while being laid back and tons of fun, they knew exactly what they wanted and didn’t look for confirmation or reassurance from others. The moment Audrey tried on her extra dreamy champagne-hued, gold-sequin-splashed gown she knew it was for her, and she made the decision to only show it to her mom and Matt’s mom prior to the wedding. The dress set the scene for the rest of the day--with gold and brass details peppered throughout a sweep-you-off-your-feet romantic blush and ivory palette.

Audrey’s cousin, Kristen Ley of Thimblepress, was also a ton of fun to work with. Her eco-friendly confetti push pops were an absolute must (in the perfect pink) and complimented Audrey’s sequined gown to a T. We also worked with Thimblepress to create unique triangular menus that felt just as modern as they did timeless, a custom monogram to use throughout the event and koozies as cool as they were cute, among a number of other custom items.

Being from Texas, we love how Audrey incorporated some serious Southern charm throughout the day, including quotes from her and Matt’s favorite country songs, chicken and waffle appetizers (Y.U.M.), a romantic first dance to George Strait's I Cross My Heart and the groom’s classic white cowboy hat.

The only thing (almost) as divine as Audrey’s dress were the flowers: hydrangeas and garden roses in blush, ivory and white sat alongside (our favorite) Cafe Au Lait Dahlias. Pops of fern in a saturated green were incorporated throughout the arrangements to add some bright life to the subdued romantic palette. We brought in a tufted ivory loveseat and a vintage-inspired white couch to create an intimate seating area that guests were drawn to.

Audrey and Matt were such a fun and lively couple to work with. They had custom “Best Dancer” trophies designed and said one of their favorite parts of the entire day (besides the intimate and surreal first-look moment) was watching their guests compete (hard) for the title. They also had a killer surprise at the end of the night--an 80’s cover band that paid tribute to some of their favorite music of the decade in which both of them were born. Overall, it was such a joy to work with a couple with such lively vision and magnetic charm.
