I legitimately look forward to peony season every year. So hearing that In Bloom Designs preserved them for weeks so that they’d be in their best shape for this gorgeous winery wedding makes me adore these floral designers even more. From In Bloom Designs… Jessica and Brendan were married at a stunning Tuscan-styled boutique winery and chose to have their photos done in the Okanagan Valley’s gorgeous desert and mountains near Lake Osoyoos. The scenery in Osoyoos is breathtaking: the blue of the lake, the rich green vineyards and the natural colors of the desert and sagebrush. To reflect the natural setting, the couple chose colors that were light and airy like blush pinks, crèmes and accented with gold and silver metallics.
To accommodate the Bride’s request for her favorite flower – peonies – Kate with In Bloom Designs preserved fresh cut peonies in cold storage for several weeks after the local season was done and the day of the wedding they were full, fragrant and absolutely gorgeous! All of the flowers were in romantic shades of pink and crème. To complement the lush vineyards, the ceremony arch and reception tables were dressed with long rich garlands of peonies, dahlias and garden roses. Nestled in the table garland were a mix of metallic votives, and little gold stars hung from the ceiling. The Father of the groom made a large marquee sign to serve as the backdrop behind the head table.
Not only did Jessica and Brendan want their reception to be accented with sparkle and shine, they wanted the Bridesmaids to sparkle too. Each Bridesmaid wore a different dress that ranged from all gold, to completely sequined, to a light powder pink, and each also had some sort of sparkle – whether it was the gold of a dress, a rhinestone belt or their diamond earrings. The Groom and Groomsmen’s suits were a deep blue and paired with brown shoes and belts. The deep blue that the Groom and Groomsmen wore perfectly accented the romantic pinks, crèmes and metallics throughout the ceremony and reception.
