Hi Brides! It’s Angela here from Saffron Avenue bringing you my next pretty little blogger bride post. I’ve had a long-time love affair with calligraphy, so incorporating that into my own shower was high on the priority list. I am so excited to share my day with you and offer a few unique way to incorporate a little DIY into your own bridal shower.
I met up with the ladies over at Mint & Lovely to pull together a styled bridal shower that reflects both me and my wedding style. With that in mind they were able to incorporate black and white stripes with the table runner and the guest gifts, beautiful green floral arrangements, hints of pink and gold, and my calligraphy. Not only that, but adorable bud vases and champagne flutes from Crate And Barrel that are on my registry list!
To make the shower a bit more unique and personalized we setup a DIY station for the bridesmaids and guests. Using my calligraphy we created iron on transfers that had the alphabet and a couple quotes. Each of the bridesmaids can cut out their initials to personalize a ribbon that can then be used to wrap their bouquet for the wedding. Other guests at the shower can choose a quote and use it to customize their own canvas tote!
The idea of creating something personalized and unique for your shower is so special, and if calligraphy and crafting is also one of your hobbies, I would definitely recommend doing this. Not only is it a memorable way to host a shower, but is also something guests can take home as a keepsake!

DIY IRON-ON CALLIGRAPHY

STEP ONE | | Create artwork of your choice, and print reversed onto transfer paper
STEP TWO | Cut out initials and place printed side down
STEP THREE | Once in place slowly move iron across design
STEP FOUR | Move it up and down, left and right
STEP FIVE | Once completed, let cool and peel off paper
