Garden Glam Wedding in San Diego

There’s nothing like San Diego sunshine to get a bride looking radiant! We’re swooning over everything from the lace wedding dress and the lush floral centerpieces from Matthew Flowers to the traditional ceremony held at the sun-lit church of The Immaculata in San Diego. Through the lens of Photography By Jay C Winter and Loyd Calomay Films, join the couple as they celebrate their nuptials in the city of endless summer right here.

From Jay C. Winter…. Eunice and Ren were married in the Immaculata Church at University of San Diego, and then celebrated at the Green Gables Estate in San Marcos. They are such a fun-loving and happy couple. You could not wipe the smile off their faces that day. Lawn games, chandeliers, banquet style wood tables, flash mob, and so much more!

From the Groom… My heart melted when I saw her silhouette grace the doorway. The pause, the first steps, and then the smile, despite three hundred people watching along with me, all I could see… all I wanted to see was her. The beginning of our lifetime together began over 5 years before (Nurses make the best lifetimemates). And our engagement came three wonderful years later. We were blessed with the opportunity to spend two years envisioning and putting together a wedding day filled with details and touches that would represent our love for each other, our family, and our city.

The Feel: We are both pretty old school at heart and wanted a wedding that was vintage and traditional. Our ties to the University of San Diego made selecting The Immaculata an obvious choice. A serendipitous meeting helped us choose Green Gables Wedding Estate. The two locations felt perfect together. Golds and purples highlighted and accented all aspects of our wedding. And details like custom designed timeless rings from Charles Koll Jewelers, do-it-yourself streamers & cake back-drop, flowers (brought to us by the cool and genuine Matt Philips owner of Matthew Flowers), bow-ties, customized suit linings, bridesmaid dresses, and hand crafted corn-hole games made October 4, 2014 much more than just an expression, but rather an extension of ourselves. Along the way, Stefanie Muse from Creative Affairs Inc. provided us with the perfect amount of guidance and creative freedom. Often acting more like a close friend and confidant than our contracted wedding planner.

The Reception: Simply stated: We wanted to have an awesome party. And the team at Green Gables, led by their coordinator Phil did a great job making sure that happened. Our guests and families were well treated throughout the evening, and everyone loved the unique personality of the former school house, now one-of-a-kind landmark estate. DJ Tanner of the Love Rockers, helped keep the dance floor packed the entire night. It left many of our guests a sweaty mess, but there were no complaints in that department. A Little Scene Flipbooks ran an efficient and fun booth. The best part was seeing a compilation of everyone’s 6 second video on our return from our Honeymoon.

Capturing the Moments: The ‘uber’ talented, fun, and charismatic Jay C. Winter and his team were phenomenal throughout the entire day, making sure we both got what we wanted and much more (sneaking away for a secluded sunset photo shoot was a nice break). One of the most memorable highlights of the night was being able to sit down and watch the Same Day Edit, craft-fully created from the mind of the internationally renowned Loyd Calomay (we still find ourselves watching it with tears, tears of happiness and fond thoughts of course!).

The day was exactly what we wanted. It was the most impeccable laid foundation to the beginning of a lifetime together. Thank you to everyone who helped make that day unforgettable. We are forever grateful. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this blog as much as I did writing it.
