From The Bride…Mike and I both grew up in Southern California, and we met when we were living in Los Angeles. One thing we have in common is our love to travel and explore and it didn’t take long for us to start having conversations about where else/what other cities we could live in . New York was top of our list. We flew out for a weekend to look for apartments and we both fell in love with this one: pre-war building, 21st floor, 5 large south facing windows – it had all the charm of this city. This same apartment that Mike would soon find himself down on one knee, proposing to me in our living room. We had plans to go to Napa that weekend when a big snowstorm hit and our flight was cancelled. That’s when Mike proposed. He said he was going to do it on our trip but once it was cancelled, he didn’t want to wait another day. We had already taken time off work so we decided to stay snowed in, in our apartment, with champagne and chocolate chip pancakes.
It wasn’t hard for us to pick out where we wanted to take our engagement photos. We initially felt that Central Park and Top of the Rock may be too New York and come off cheesy. However, the next big move is whispering to us and we wanted to have something to remember our amazing time here. Meeting Alicia for a glass of wine sealed the deal. Her charm and personable confidence assured us that those would be great locations. The day of our shoot we met Alicia at 6am. The light was perfect, the park was quiet and beautiful. Our pictures are better than we could have ever imagined. We can’t thank Alicia enough, she is very talented!
