From Karen Hill… Alexander and Crista were married in November, 2013 in NYC. They met in Verbier, Switzerland in July 2009. Raised in London by an American mother and a Swedish father, Alexander grew up skiing in Verbier in the winter and attending the famous classical music festival during the summer. Crista, an American violist from New York was performing in the festival orchestra and on the memorable night she played in a production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, she also happened to meet a tall and handsome boy at Pub Mont Fort – the nightly post-concert festival hang out spot. Crista and Alexander enjoyed a few evenings together at the pub, not expecting much to come of anything since Alexander was due to return to work in Stockholm, Sweden while Crista was on her way back to New York to finish her Masters at Juilliard. Crista said goodbye, only to discover a few days later that the company Alexander was working for had declared bankruptcy and that he was looking to re-locate to New York to live with his brother. In early October, Alexander visited New York and took Crista for a long walk around the Central Park reservoir. Within a few days he had gotten a new job, and within a few weeks he had packed up his life in Stockholm and moved to New York city. The rest is history…
On their wedding day, it was most important to them to have an intimate event with their closest family and friends. Their ceremony was of central importance as they said their vows and entered into a lifelong covenant. The heart of their reception was a deliciously lengthy dinner where they enjoyed unforgettable speeches from their toastmaster, the bride’s brother, their parents and bridal party. Crista says, “the best moment of the day was sitting down to dinner as a newly married couple, surrounded by the people we love the most. Walking down Madison Avenue to our hotel in full wedding attire at the end of the night was also an unforgettable moment”.
