From the beautiful Bride...Magnolias in May-the mindset I had when planning our special day. My husband is from Georgia and my family is from Virginia so I really wanted our wedding to reflect our Southern roots. One of the best words of wisdom we had prior to our big day was to truly savor every moment, which is why we tried to truly embrace all the special moments of our day.

My husband and I chose not to do a first look, however I embraced that modern tradition and did a first look with my daddy (Pops). It was a moment full of joyful tears and our sweet photographer Sarah Kate had to stop numerous times for me to get it together for photos. I couldn't look at Pops without becoming a blubbery mess, our bond is truly one of a kind.

My husband and I have alternated planning surprise date nights every week nicknamed Hot Tuesday ever since our very first date. It was such a fun way to explore our new city [Dallas] and motivated us to plan fun dates around the city. I fell in love with Ross through all the surprises and so I really wanted to plan a big surprise for him on our wedding day. All of our family and friends are familiar with our date night and our good friend that married us even mentioned it in our ceremony.

Ross went to The University of Georgia and to say he is a bulldog fan would be an understatement. I wanted his surprise to be something really memorable to him as well as something fun for our guest to enjoy. The Rabun Bourbon Bar was the perfect addition to make our wedding truly personal. It was so much working with Caroline Fair, Fauxcades and Southern Fried Paper to create the surprise. My daddy built the frame for the sign the week of our wedding-sweet man!

My husband and I snuck into the ballroom during the outdoor cocktail hour so I could reveal his big surprise. It was a great way to kick off the evening and our guest [especially the Georgia fans] loved personalized bar.

When I met with our florist I explained to her, I knew nothing about flowers but wanted magnolias and peaches to bring our Southern roots to Dallas. My husband’s family is deeply rooted in Georgia and I wanted to symbolize both of our families becoming one on that day. Branching Out Events surpassed our vision for our Southern wedding, trophies filled with peaches, magnolia foliage welcoming guest to our cocktail hour and mint julep cups reminisced for a perfect Southern Saturday.

Our friends and family love to dance and Cuvvee brought down the house. We danced the night away closing with an intimate last dance to truly savor the evening.
