Hot Air Balloon Inspiration Shoot

I think we can all agree that pink ombre is amazing.  But add that pink ombre to a whole host of beautiful details orchestrated by an all-star team of vendors, including Maria MunitsynaElena Koshkina and The Big Day Agency, and it’s more than amazing… it’s spectacular.  Think gorgeous fields, lush, romantic florals from First Flower and, of course, sky high balloons.  See it here

From Nadya Kozlova of The Big Day Agency… This shoot has been inspired by the grandeur of the hot air balloons! They are massive, light and graceful at the same time. So we were trying to complement this centerpiece of our shoot with the worthful framework. That’s why we ended up with the classical style and pink ombre colour palette.

We can imagine that this couple escaped from the city to enjoy the last days of summer and to talk about love. The whole concept of the shoot was more of the love confession, so it starts with the handwritten love letter. The text of the letter is the poem of the most famous Russian poet – Alexander Pushkin, it is called The Confession and was written around 1824. This golden period of the Russian history echoes in the beautiful calligraphy, white paper and craft envelope, used in the letter.

The balloon basket is fully coated with peonies, garden roses of the dust-pink colour and hydrangeas! Before inflating the balloon we accidentally decided to cover the technical black handles with the lace, which turned into gorgeous canopy and added even more lightness.

Flower arrangements used in the shoot are as rich & solid as the balloon basket: both bride’s bouquet and table centerpiece are composed of 6 varieties of roses (Pink Piano Roses, David Ostin Keira, Patience & Juliet Roses, Pink O’Hara Roses, Roses Bombastic Spray) & huge number of other beautiful flowers. Classical ottoman and cocktail table with all of those nice details (silver chandeliers, champagne with cut-glass glasses, laces and velvet ribbons, perfect ruffled cake, lanterns) create coziness, even though we are in the middle of the field.

The couple’s style was also thought through. The lady is in the blush pink multilayer Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, finished with sequins. The young man is in his shirt sleeves and bow-tie undone.

The peak of the shoot is of course the balloon voyage. The sunset light steeps the balloon as it lifts and flies higher and higher.

The onshore scene is worth separate reference. The water lily pond is the best background and long delphinium stems compose sophisticated, though simple geometry.
