Romantic Florence Vineyard Wedding

Take two native Irish cuties turned Aussies and pair them with the talented planning team that is SposiamoVi, and the result is this sweetly ethereal soiree in Italy. Filled with contagious smiles and darling details tucked in every corner, it’s no wonder we’re smitten with the imagery from Lisa Poggi Photography. Take a little looksie for yourself in the gallery.

From the beautiful Bride…Brian and I met in secondary school. We are what you would call childhood sweethearts.

We will always reminisce about our wedding and we are delighted to hear all our family and friends still talking about it. It was the best weekend of our lives. We have lived in Melbourne for the past 6 years but we’re originally from Ireland. After travelling to Australia together Brian proposed to me in Sept 2011 in a rustic vineyard nestled deep in the Yarra Valley, Melbourne.

We spent two busy years organising our wedding. Beginning with our destination choice, we were quickly drawn to the beauty of Tuscany and all it had to offer. Once we had settled on Tuscany we were delighted to meet our amazing wedding planner. Francesca from SposiamoVi was fantastic. She was there for every question and the choosing of all our vendors. The ease in which everything came together would not have been possible without Francesca’s ever presence guidance and assurance.

Our day and our weekend in Tuscany turned out to be our very own fairy tale wedding, we were both on cloud nine the entire day. Every aspect of the day felt perfect, like a dream come through for both of us and it was made feel even more special by celebrating it with our close friends and family who had travelled great lengths to be with us.

Our ceremony was in the charming church on the Castello Vicchiomaggio’s grounds. I walked up the isle to Christina Perry “A Thousand Years” played on the violin and harp. While I walked up the isle I was busy smiling at all our guests. My heart skipped a beat when I finally saw Brian standing at the top of the alter watching me as walked up the isle with my Dad.

There are so many memories and special moments. I loved the peace and serenity of us getting ready in the bridal suite. It was so nice to have my Mum, soon to be Mother-in-law, my Nanny, my sister and my best friend with me. They all said I was the most relaxed bride they had ever seen. My Dad had said the day previous, “if you are relaxed and chilled out everyone around you will feed off your presence”, and how right he was.

The rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside and the beautiful tall Cyprus trees framed our wedding backdrop. We laughed and smiled the whole way through the day and night.

It felt so unique to us, heading down to the vineyard and olive grove to have our photos taken. Lisa Poggi our photographer and our Matteo our videographer captured every tiny detail.

Having our friends and family around us, that had travelled so far made us feel very humble, grateful and loved. I will never forget a minute of our wedding day, it was a dream come true and our perfect little fairy-tale.
