Floral Covered Wedding in Rockport, Maine

I grew up visiting seaside Maine, and it’s one of those spots that’ll forever hold my heart. But when you add in overflowing florals by Emily Carter, it becomes an absolute wonderland. I can’t get enough of this coastal celebration, created by the talented Daisies & Pearls, and with every breathtaking blooms captured by Justin & Mary. Gloomy, gray days don’t stand in a chance in the full gallery here.

From Daisies & Pearls… Baylor and Larry selected Maine as the backdrop for their wedding as Larry proposed to Baylor during a vacation to DownEast, Maine a year prior. The Miami based couple wanted to treat family and friends from all over the globe to a destination wedding weekend filled with all the delights Maine has to offer.

Samoset Resort was the perfect home base for the visiting guest list, with its manicured grounds and spectacular ocean views. Upon arrival guests were welcomed with LL Bean totes filled with Maine themed treats. Friday evening guests were reunited and introduced during a cocktail party.

After a restful night’s sleep and relaxing morning taking in the sea air, guests traveled along the scenic roads via trolley to the beautiful Camden Amphitheatre overlooking Camden Harbor. The lush Amphitheatre provided the inspiration for the garden party design concept, with the striking coral peony as the focal point. Baylor in lace met Larry in seersucker, under a floral draped birch chuppah. The couple was joined by their daughter and Baylor’s mother. Adding to the merriment of a Maine wedding, the ceremony was performed by a retired sea captain.

Returning to Samoset, guests savored cocktails and hors d’oeuvres on the green, prior to finding their way under the sailcloth tent decorated with vibrant stems everywhere the eye could see. Floral chandeliers were suspended above dining tables adorned with ribbon runners dotted by blooms in a variety of glass vessels. Escort cards and table numbers in gold calligraphy complemented the overall design. Following a dinner featuring lobster, of course, guests enjoyed the festive sounds of a jazz quintet, delicious cake almost too pretty to slice and a breathtaking sunset seaside.

The next morning before bidding farewell, the newlyweds and guests continued the celebration with brunch on the high seas aboard schooners.
