The quintessential Maine wedding is about to hit your screen. It's romantic and fun, incorporates Maine's beauty, and of course, has a nautical nod a la the lobster bake welcome dinner. In short, Fidelio Photography is about to make you smile. In long, Blissful Beginnings Wedding and Event Design pulled together one of the most amazingly enjoyable soirees I've seen in a long time, and it's all right here!

From Melanie at Blissful Beginnings... Virginia and Michael celebrated their summer wedding on the quaint Chebeague Island, located in Casco Bay, just off the coast of Portland Maine.

Chebeague Island holds a special sweetness for Virginia, as her family has vacationed at the bucolic Juniper Lodge since she was a child. The lodge was formerly a girls' summer camp built in 1914 by family relatives on the island.

A destination wedding was planned to share in the tranquility and charm of Chebeague. Guests traveled to the island on board the adorable red, white and blue ferry boat, the Islander, and were immediately met by the historical yellow facade of the Chebeague Island Inn.

The weekend kicked off with a traditional New England Lobsterbake at Juniper Lodge. The casual and jovial party provided the perfect environment for the Bride's and Groom's family to meet and enjoy a perfect summer evening in Maine.

The wedding day was a stellar sunny day, and the Bride's party dressed at the family Lodge, a tranquil spot just slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of the Chebeague Island Inn's wedding day preparations. Floral Designer Judy Bourgeois of Flora Fauna and Wedding Planner Melanie Voros of Blissful Beginnings Wedding and Event Design embraced Virginia's turquoise and coral color palette and transformed the Sailcloth style tent from Marshall Rental Center into a vibrant and lively spot for dinner and dancing. The ceremony was held on the rolling lawn of the Chebeague Island Inn, overlooking the bustling bay. Following dinner, guests were treated to a whimsical take on a Maine favorite- a whoopie pie buffet from Cranberry Island Kitchen. Delicious treats in shapes of seashells and lobsters sat on platters of chocolate "shells" and we a huge hit! Guests danced the night away to tunes spun by Brian Zutter Productions as the sun set over the bay. Guests from across the globe enjoyed a weekend of Down East hospitality and took home a sweet taste- favors were jars of Maine Blueberry Jam from Stonewall Kitchen.
