Sunset Sydney Engagement Session

Engagement shoots are ALL about the love, but if we’re being totally honest…a little added bloomage doesn’t hurt one bit. Exhibit A? This gorgeous duo who took to the open fields of Australia with jaw-dropping florals from Chanele RoseAmy Chan beautified the bride, Styled By Linda guided the shoot, and Jenny Sun Photography made each and every moment sparkle in the gallery. Enjoy!

From The Bride…Ken and I had known each other for many years, having met back when he was a helpful senior in Uni. Through chance and circumstance, our friendship brought us closer together until we decided to take our relationship to the next level.

That was 2 years ago.

Now that the wedding is only months away, I look back at the moments that defined our romance with unbridled fondness. Having a great friend for a lover is having your cake and eating it too. There is intimacy with trust. There is passion with joy. There is solace with adversity. I wanted it to last forever.

Which is why I said “YES!!” when he asked. It started with a romantic candlelight dinner at one of our favourite restaurants in town, followed by a gentle stroll by the moonlit foreshore. As we approached a secluded bench overlooking the harbour, he sat me down and disappeared momentarily, only to return with a bouquet of beautiful red roses. Within them was a surprise; a ring box! Filled with anticipation I flipped it open, only to find to my complete dismay that it was empty!!

I must have looked ridiculous when I turned to face him, a mixture of frustration and disappointment. Of course, there he was on one knee with a cheeky smile on his face, producing the ring from his pocket. He always loved to keep me guessing although this time I could’ve done without the suspense!

We spent the week leading up to our engagement shoot concerned as the gloomy (and occasionally somewhat rainy) weather threatened to interfere. Thankfully the sun was shining through practically the entirety of the session, leaving us with a truly magnificent backdrop. We were also fortunate enough to have met with the most amazing wedding vendors — Jenny Sun Photography, Amy Chan Hair & Make up Artistry, Chanele Rose Flowers and Styled by Linda, who had all combined to make the day not only possible but incredibly special. We definitely had a memorable time out in the sun!
