This is what it’s all about. All of the bouquets, the dress, the personalized vows… it all comes down to that person; that one you want to be laughing with and dancing arm in arm with sixty one years later. True love is a beautiful , beautiful thing and these two and their epic story have captured our hearts. Their love is palpable as seen through their granddaughter, Shayna San Nicolas’s gorgeous images and film below.

From Shayna San Nicolas… If I could describe what a life of happiness looks like, I would tell you the love story of my grandparents. This handsome young sailor swept my then 15 year old grandma off her feet, they married, had three children, 6 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. They have traveled the world together, owned businesses, built homes, traveled cross country (and to Alaska) in their motorhome, and have had a blast doing it all! We could not have asked for a better example of marriage, forgiveness, generousity, friendship and faith than what we have wrapped in these two. I can’t even begin to explain the love and respect I have for my grandparents, and I won’t try (otherwise I won’t be able to type through my tears)! I love them, and am so thankful God blessed me so greatly!
I have been wanting to do a styled shoot with them, and treat them like my 20 year old engaged couples! Even a floral head crown and bow tie!!! They were up for it, of course…did I mention they usually go along with all my crazy ideas?! All items that are special to my grandparents were set to make the perfect scene. The record of “Misty” is their favorite song, the dolls were their wedding cake toppers, the bronze shoe was my grandma’s baby bootie, they also brought their wedding album, and framed photos from their wedding day.
