Elegant Spring Perth Wedding

My love of pink peonies knows no bounds and when I found this bride felt the same, I sort of felt like kindred spirits. She, along with her charming groom, crafted a day filled with personality, elegance and ease…not to mention killer floral moments by Rebecca Grace. The amazing Mustard Seed Photography captured the pretty and this little taste is only the beginning.

From The Bride… We both had strong ideas about what we wanted for our wedding and we were lucky that our strong ideas complimented each other. Everything we loved about each other and our relationship was reflected in the planning and the end, our wedding day. Jason works in IT, he is organised, focussed and is great at breaking down tasks. I work in health, and am mostly organised and focussed. My fiancé worked hard to keep me on track during this time. He turned our wedding into a work project, creating a card wall, each card with a task and associated contact details.

To combine our love for food and the desire for dinner with a view led us to the idea of a Chinese banquet style reception dinner, but with a relaxed, outdoor feel. Heyder & Shears allowed us to design our own 8 course menu and our event manager Zac was with us every step of the way from suggesting wines to sourcing everything we needed to make our guests feel comfortable. Our marquee had clear walls so our guests could take in the river views from the banks of Matilda Bay Reserve. Once it was dark, the city lit up, creating a lovely romantic feel.

I am so lucky to have had such an involved groom. When Jason saw I really wanted letterpress invitations, he designed exactly what I wanted, including a image of the stuffed toy dog he gave me in the early stages of our relationship with a bouquet of peonies (my favourite flower). The picture of the cute dog would feature on our save the date cards, seating chart and the stickers on our favours. Jason designed our guest book, a coffee table book of our engagement photos. We named tables after restaurants or places where we had shared delicious food, and we framed our menus to give them pride of place at the centre of the tables. We spent weekends filling jars with local raw honey, tying place cards which double as thank you cards on the back.

SMP was my go to blog on all things wedding related. I spent countless hours admiring beautifully weddings while gathering ideas to make our day unique.

We could not have asked for better vendors and our amazing family and friends who travelled from across Australia and Asia to help us celebrate our special day. I would not change a thing, even the rain! Our day was perfect, because of all the wonderful people in our lives who love us so very much.
