Cultural Beauty at Tappan Hill Mansion

We simply adore Justin & Mary around these parts, but when they send us a wedding this stunning, this full of meaning – we want to give them the biggest virtual hug of all time. Because it doesn’t get more gorgeous than the images sitting pretty below, it simply doesn’t. It’s two beautiful ceremonies wrapped up in one picture perfect gallery, and you can see them all here

From the Bride…Our wedding represented a joining of our love and friendship, and also a joining of our families of different religions and cultures. It was sometimes challenging to weave all of the important aspects of our cultures together, but we look back on the day with warmth and sheer satisfaction. Our wedding was an all-day affair starting with the Jain ceremony in the morning followed by lunch, and continued on into the evening with the Catholic ceremony and festivities. The Indian ceremony was colorfully animated while the Catholic ceremony was quiet and serene, leaving us feeling like we were the only two people there. Nature played a big role in our choice of venue. We wanted to be near trees and water, and Tappan Hill Mansion overlooking the Hudson River onto New Jersey (where we both grew up) was perfectly fitting. While it was a big wedding we wanted the details to feel simple and personal. On multiple occasions we gathered friends and family members to assemble programs, paint table numbers, and stamp favor bags. The planning process gave us a chance to learn more about each other, our families, and create a unity that we will maintain in our marriage for the years ahead.
