From Rebecca Yale PhotographyLiving in New York City there are so many beautiful spots to photograph, but sometimes you just have to get out of it for a breath of fresh air and gorgeous greenery. For Sam and Joel's engagement session we headed out to her parent's home in Westchester, which was the perfect setting for lovely summer photos set against the backdrop of a 100 year old home and lush green trees full of golden light. Samantha is an incredible stylist based in New York City who is a regular at New York City Fashion Week and has worked with everyone from Stacy London to Badgley Mischka and Nylon Magazine. She styled her engagement photos perfectly with flattering summery dresses in shades of pink and cream to bring a timeless elegance to her photos. Below she shares some tips on how to style the perfect engagement session!

From Samantha Brown of the Missing Piece… As tempting as it may be to style your engagement session with dramatic or bold pieces, you want to make sure you opt for clothing that will let your love story be the main focus. Anything too trendy will distract from your facial expressions and body language. Your clothes can completely change the tone of your photographs so keep in mind how you want to look and the color story you want to tell. Look for clothing and accessories that will stand the test of time--you don't want to look back on these photos later and wish you had worn something different. Keep it clean and classically you and your engagement session will remain a timeless treasure in your relationship.
