Romantic Dairy Farm Wedding

The Fearrington House might be my new favorite place in the world to say I do.  And when I say it “might,” I mean that it totally is.  Dairy farm meets classic beauty, it’s the perfect place to celebrate romantic nuptials just like this one: a day filled to the brim with lace, rustic meets gorgeous details and one breathtaking moment after another captured by Krystal Kast.  Get your pretty on right here.

From Krystal Kast Photography… Meg and Nick met in Washington DC and, after dating for two years, they moved to North Carolina for graduate school at UNC Chapel Hill. The weekend before they started school, they we went to dinner at Fearrington. After dinner, they passed a wedding reception at the Fearrington Barn and sneaked a peek inside. Meg whispered to her mom, “I am going to get married here!” The next summer, Nick proposed to her on top of a mountain while they were vacationing in western North Carolina. They knew right away that they would be saying their vows in the Fearrington gardens.

From The Bride… Nick and I wanted our wedding day to be simple and relaxing (as relaxing as your wedding day can be…) with a small group of our closest family and friends. We looked for ways we could add small personal touches throughout. We designed and printed our save the dates, invites, and thank you cards. They reflected the simplicity and rustic feel we wanted for our day. My sister designed our monogram for the invites, which we also printed on labels for our welcome bags. We designed and printed our own wedding weekend crossword puzzle and newsletter with directions, restaurant and shopping recommendations, and travel info to include for our guests. We opted not to have attendants, and instead found ways to include our parents and siblings into other aspects of our ceremony. We asked our 65 guests to pass our rings to bless them during the ceremony so everyone could be included. For cocktail hour, we pulled dozens of old childhood pictures from albums, reprinted them and strung them between two vintage ladders with clothespins along with our seating arrangements. It created a really fun centerpiece to complement the surrounding gardens and pastures. Instead of a more formal plated dinner, we worked with Fearrington to create an amazing reception menu (including our favorite, Carolina pork bbq) that allowed us to mingle with all of our guests before we started the dance party. We were so happy to have created such a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere where we could really enjoy every moment of our wedding!
