From the Bride…Since many of our guests were from out of town we wanted the wedding to be a reflection of Chicago with the venue to reflect as much as all of our embellishments. The venue is housed in the first skyscraper in the city of Chicago. We tried to incorporate the city into as much as we could, each table marker was a neighborhood we had a connection to, place cards showed the city skyline, the beers we served were all from Chicago breweries, we collected milk glass for all the centerpieces, and hobnail votives that matched the cake, and the giveaway was Garretts Popcorn. My mother the day before the wedding even gave me a bracelet to wear on my wedding day that matched the iron motif of the building. We had great vendors that were easy to work with. Our photographers and florist understood us from the start and were able to see our vision through. The best part was to see how much fun our guests had, and them dancing away to our awesome band.

From Studio StarlingTheir event and ceremony were held at the stunning Rookery. With this architectural icon as their starting point, the couple used the theme of Chicago architecture throughout their wedding plans. We made photographs on LaSalle street, near the Calder and also traveled to Olive Park for a skyline view. Inside the venue Sweet Chic Events pulled the event together with flowers by Scarlet Petal and architecture themed table numbers, cards and signage, all designed by the bride’s adorable sister.

Although the day started a bit stressful for the couple, the act of going outside, walking around our beautiful city and having fun making photographs really helped the day be fun and carefree.

From Sweet Chic EventsIt was a pleasure working with Rebecca and Ty on their wedding. The Rookery is one of the most beautiful and historic event spaces in Chicago and their wedding vision was a lot of fun to be a part of. Theirs was truly a labor of love and all of the details were amazing and personalized. It was a pleasure working with this wonderful couple and helping make their day truly special!
