Elegant Villa La Vedetta Wedding

Italy never ceases to amaze me. It’s historic charm, quaint villas and colorfully faded ancient structures pull me in every time for it’s unadulterated romance. So when Exclusive Italy Weddings sent over this gallery of pretty from David Bastianoni, some serious swooning was in order. Topped off with cheery florals from Tuscany Flowers, it’s hard not to be enchanted by this soiree!

From Exclusive Italy WeddingsWhen Rees and Joe contacted us to plan their wedding in Florence, we felt that this was going to be a truly unique event. The elegance and wonderful taste of the bride were a real inspiration to design this wedding, where the bright colors of summer combine charmingly with the classic Renaissance cityscape.

The couple rented Villa la Vedetta, an elegant neo-renaissance hotel with a panoramic terrace overlooking Florence, where you feel like you can almost touch the ancient domes and towers of the historical city. This allowed them to wholly share this magic experience with their closest friends and family members.

The catholic ceremony took place in the church of San Martino a Mensola, an elegant 15th century church in Renaissance style perched atop a hill shaded by olive trees. The ceremony was intimate, joyous, full of love.

After the ceremony the bride and groom had a romantic photo session in the heart of Florence. Faded pink palaces and breathtaking vistas over the skyline of Florence made the perfect background for their photo shoot. Photographer David Bastianoni captured the magical atmosphere while the bride and groom walked along the ancient alleys.

The wedding banquet took place outdoors on the panoramic terrace of Villa Vedetta. One of the most distinctive touches of this event was the floral design in vibrant summer colours by our floral designer Gianni: the decoration of the banquet table in red, purple and green created a bright contrast with the fresh, white table linen and with other carefully studied details such as white lanterns and hundreds of tea-lights. The bride chose the same colors for her bouquet.

The wedding meal featured a typical Tuscan menu: simple and genuine dishes with the distinctive mediterranean flavors. The summer sky darkened slowly over the city and filled with stars, and while the wedding cake was served on the terrace the lights of Florence started vibrating in the background.

A gorgeous sunny day, the charm of a city full of history, of beauty and splendid architecture, the bridal couple sitting at an elegant banquet under the starry sky, with delicious food and excellent wine, surrounded by the smiling faces of friends and family: not a single detail could have been more perfect when you imagine the ideal Italian wedding.
