Elegant Lowndes Grove Plantation Wedding

This elegant soiree from Sean Money + Elizabeth Fay is one of those weddings that I scanned through about a hundred times. And every time, I found something new and oh-so-lovely. Starting with the Bride’s ah-mazing Monique Lhuillier dress, followed up by that unbelievable ceremony tree and how about a little bit of fun with some heart sunglasses? It’s a gem of a wedding and it’s all right here. Don’t miss the amazing film from Hart To Hart Media!

From the Bride & Groom, Annie & Steve… Having never been the type to fantasize about “the big day,” we were both pretty clueless when we embarked on the wedding planning process. Venue? Color scheme? Cake? We were at a loss. But we knew at least this much–that we wanted the wedding to reflect us, both individually and as a couple. We wanted to feel ownership over the wedding by injecting our personalities and memories into the day. This is the guiding principle we looked to at each stage of the planning process.

Wanting to keep the decor bright and elegant with splashes of fun, we chose a predominantly white/neutral color scheme with bright pink/purple floral arrangements. We gave our guests heart-shaped sunglasses and kooky socks as favors, to help bring out everyone’s inner child. We displayed pictures of our parents’ and grandparents’ weddings, to honor their example and reflect the importance we place on family. Our cake toppers were a set of hand-painted wooden ducks, in keeping with Korean tradition. And we decided to exit on Razor scooters (despite the fact that neither of us had ever ridden one before) because we thought it’d be silly–and we love being silly.

The end result was a beautiful, exhilarating day that was deeply personal to both of us. We felt our handprints throughout the entire evening, which truly made the celebration feel like ours. We can’t thank our vendors and guests enough for having helped put together, document, and take part in our wedding. For two people who had never fantasized about it before, we now can’t stop reliving the day over and over in our heads.
