Styled Shoot Full of Romance + Whimsy in Portland, Oregon
May 20, 2014
At first glance, this inspiration is all romance. But upon closer inspection you'll see a few details that add just the right amount of whimsy. It's those unexpected moments, like a gilded lion at each place setting or the ruffliest of cakes that really make this gem shine. And of course, there's the drop dead gorgeous images by Tara Francis Photography  +  Bunn Salarzon and the pastel layer of florals by  Vangs Garden Flowers. All together, it makes for one crazy good gallery. See it here.

This was a whimsical styled shoot collaborated by Tara Francis Photography and Bunn Salarzon Photography. The shoot started out with a bridal boudoir session with some getting ready photos of putting on lipstick at a gold gilded french antique dresser adorned with jewelry and a mirror. That same french dresser was used for the ruffled cake by Le Cookie Monkey with an unexpected cute little frosting rose on top.

The colors were soft pastels and gold accents. Next to the cake was a stack of white canapé plates by Vietri from their Incanto White collection. Stacked on those plates was gold flatware wrapped in dyed pink silk ribbon from Frou Frou Chic. The beautiful flower arrangement and bouquet by Vang's Garden Flowers had many different flowers such as roses with ruffled tips, lilies, bells of ireland, eucalyptus and succulents in greens, peach, pink and cream tones. The base of the bouquet was wrapped with a beautiful jeweled brooch. The boutonniere's were all different but incorporated the same flowers.

The wedding dress went just below the knee to give a flirty look and show off her gorgeous jeweled Jimmy Choos. She also wore a darling floral crown. The wedding table was covered with a linen hemstitch tablecloth and the bride and groom sat on french round chairs. The table number was inside a little white wood bird cage. Stacked white plates sat on gold chargers with DIY spray painted gold lions that had hand written names for seating. White linen napkins again wrapped with pink silk ribbon also rested on the plates. Gold flatware and gold rimmed glasses added to the gold accents of the wedding table.

Favors were tucked into muslin bags with linen paper cut out from paper shapes. The favors were then placed into a bell lighting glass dome jar. The invitation suite by Red Pearl Design carried on the pastel colors with handwritten font that continued that whimsical feel. Hair and makeup were kept light and fresh by Bri Ellis from Portland Make-up and Hair. There was also a charcuterie plate with prosciutto and salami with favorite cheeses such as smoked gouda, brie and rogue river smokey blue. The strawberry vodka cocktail was put into a vintage crystal liquor decanter and served with blueberries.
