Classic Brocket Hall Wedding Film

The Long Haul Films team always leaves us smiling and that’s why we love them. But this film? The first 30 seconds of this one will completely MELT your heart. It’s guaranteed. This wintry wedding day is filled with laughter, love and so, so many sweet moments.

From the beautiful Bride, Kirsty… Jonathan (aka Fraser) and I were married at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire on December 13th, 2013. We wanted a day that really reflected our personalities, our sense of fun and having a good time – which we hope was reflected in all parts of the day including the ceremony, speeches and the evening party! We also wanted to bring in the Christmas theme so that it kicked off Christmas 2013 in style! But our main want for the day was that everyone walked away having had an amazing day (and judging by the feedback we have had we definitely reached that goal – if I could do it all again I would I absolutely loved it)

We feel our day was extra special because:

Jonathan wrote the poem that his nephew read out during the ceremony, which was just heart breaking. I loved it.

Our friend Rachel Anderson and her fiancé Rick Lyons singing and playing the guitar meant so much to us – she has a beautiful voice, although she now wants Jonathan to repay the favour at her wedding and sing (although why she would want to ruin her wedding like that is beyond us).

Jonathan’s Best Man was BBC Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who gave a hilarious, outrageous speech at the reception (most of it not fit for the wedding film trailer!).

My granddad passed away last year so my wedding planner and close friend Nicolanne got a little picture made up and tied it to my bouquet – it was lovely to have him close on the day.

We had a photo booth (by Picture Blast) with a dress up box and used the photos from this to create our guest book from the day. It is hilarious – reading through those messages as the night wore on is so funny, I absolutely love it!

I was really worried about doing the first dance as I didn’t want to just shuffle around while people just stared at us so we decided to get some dance classes from Ivania Elena which was great fun – it was a little step away from all the planning and a chance to learn a new skill and we felt great when we managed to get through the routine on our wedding day.

Candy Cane Sweets Hertford supplied the cart for our candy cart.

We made bridal party recovery gift bags which were put into the rooms of everyone staying in the hall that included – small bottle of white and red wine, crisps, chocolate bar, nuts, alka seltzer and water. I think a lot of the guests were grateful for that!

From Tom & Mia at Long Haul Films We knew Fraser and Kirsty as friends of friends before they hired us to shoot the wedding. We had no hesitation saying yes because we knew it was going to be a joyful, fun and joke-filled wedding day, from Fraser’s nephew’s poem-reading to all of the amazing speeches, including our favorite UK wedding tradition, the groom’s speech. Brocket Hall was the perfect setting and Binky Nixon was the perfect collaborator.
