If ever there were an invitation design meant to be married with letterpress printing, this one from Five Dot Design is it. The vibrant pink and orange pattern inspired by the Indian culture set the tone for not just the design, but the entire wedding day. Keep reading for the inspiration behind this invitation!
From Five Dot Design… Taz and Christopher really wanted to fuse the vibrancy and the tradition of the Indian culture with a refined rustic look to encompass both families. The day was filled with bright pops of color amidst wood, antiqued metals and natural fibers. For the invitation, we wanted to incorporate the intricate patterns and bright colors, with a modern font to keep the tone relaxed, slightly untraditional and still keep the rich Indian roots in the design.
The couple chose a beautiful line from Barry Louis Polisar for the outside wrap of their invitation: “If I was a flower growing wild and free, all I’d want is you to be my sweet honey bee. And if I was a tree growing tall and green, all I’d want is you to shade me and be my leaves.” It was important this stand out amongst the suite because it represented Taz and Christopher’s kind and quiet love rooted in admiration for each other. The wrap allowed us to showcase a proper introduction of the couple and hold each piece of the suite securely.
The hot pink and orange pattern letterpressed on the back of the invitation and selectively wrapped to the front, that was also letterpressed. We utilized an ornate font for the couple’s names and paired it with a traditional script font and a slightly more modern font to flirt with the line of formal and casual, yet still elegantly presented.
