Rustic Fall Wedding at Thomas Fogarty Winery

I’m ready to dive head first into summer, there’s no question about that. But when Gavin Farrington Photography sent over this fall sunset-inspired goodness? I could almost smell the rustic goodness. Thomas Fogarty Winery was the perfect backdrop for this day designed by Glow Event Design and there’s so much more to soak up right here!

From the beautiful Bride… Aesthetically, the wedding was inspired by a “fall sunset” (reds, oranges, purples, golds). A particular detail we included was apples, because apple orchards have been the setting for key moments in our relationship, including our engagement. Another detail we thought was fun was chemistry-inspired vases at the dinner tables, since we’re both scientists.

Our biggest DIY projects were our save-the-date cards, which we wrote and designed ourselves (with final touch-ups by a graphic designer that our fantastic planner Christina put us in touch with,) and the wedding programs, which we designed to look like an academic journal paper, because we’re nerds. We got such great reactions from our guests about both. We got many other details (cake toppers, signs, and wine bottle signing kit) from Etsy.

Overall, the lighting that day really struck us, and our photographer Gavin Farrington did a spectacular job capturing it. Dinner was lit by market lights and a gorgeous sunset, which was followed by a stunning full moon. At the end of the evening we were sent off with sparklers, which was even more beautiful than I imagined. I still get goosebumps thinking about it!
