As far as I am concerned, ceremonies held under 1,100-year-old oak trees should be completely mandatory. Because, honestly… pairing some sweet “I do’s” with a breathtaking backdrop slash woodland wonderland is pretty much a guarantee for a day of pretty. From the Groom… My favorite part of our wedding took place at the beginning of the afternoon under the olive grove. Florence had spent the previous night at Highland Springs Resort and I arrived there in the morning of the wedding. Florence and I spent the morning with our bridal party prepping for the big day and we did not see each other at all. At 1 pm, I was taken to the olive grove and waited for Florence for our first look. While I was waiting with my back turned, I experienced feelings of joy and love like I never had before. When she arrived, I was so happy and excited to see Florence in her wedding gown and to finally enjoy our wedding day. On that day, I thought Florence was the most beautiful woman I had ever seen. Seeing her for the first time brought a tear to my eye – her beauty and grace shined more than ever on that day. I felt like the luckiest man in the world at that moment.
From the Bride… Throughout the day, Seng and I paused to take it all in. So many people warned us that the day would just fly by and that it’d be over sooner than we would anticipate. Knowing this, we deliberately took the time to stop, look at each other, and enjoy each and every moment. We kept on asking each other, “Are you having fun?” and “Are you enjoying this?” And we both felt this feeling of being so lucky and blessed to have each other and to have our closest friends and family there — many of whom came from far places… From Santa Ana, San Diego, Fontana, Palm Springs, NorCal, Phoenix, Michigan, New York, Boston, to Paris, France.
