From the Bride… Our wedding day was a beautiful blend of love, warmth, glamour and intimacy. The celebration marked a beginning and an end for us, as it followed nearly four years of living states apart. We would often dream of “our someday,” a point in which our lives would not be separated by plane rides or road trips. As my husband said in his vows, “our someday now turns into everyday.” Indeed, the wedding made our dream of a life together a magical reality.

We wanted our guests to feel the magic, too. Planner extraordinaire Mindy Weiss helped us create a celebration that overflowed with love. A rehearsal party and bridesmaid luncheon kicked off the memorable weekend. Our vision for the wedding day itself was to create a romantic oasis through rustic finishes. We combined natural materials with rare vintage finds. The space felt warm and intimate, despite our large guest count. Close friend Gilles Mendel, of J. Mendel, designed my gowns, which I felt beautiful in.

Above all, the most memorable part of the day was certainly the love felt between us and among us. Personal vows inevitably led to tears and giggles, and we waited to see each other until I walked down the aisle. I also wrote a song, which was played during the ceremony.

Guests later enjoyed cocktails, followed by great food and a lot of dancing. My parents surprised us with a performance from Colbie Calliat, because her music has been always been a special part of our love story.

An after-party designed like a disco room kept everyone there until the early morning. We were impressed anyone made it to our post-wedding brunch! My husband and I capped off the night by walking the aisle again when all was quiet, marking the start of our marriage, our future and our “everyday.”
