From Taylor Rae Photography… It was a fall day in Charleston, which can mean many things. It can mean that it’s still unbelievably humid, it can mean that a cold spell has all of a sudden set in, or it can mean perfect weather. And Jess and Casey’s wedding day was the first PERFECT day of the year in Charleston. Jess got ready in her home in downtown Charleston, and as she stepped into her sleek, form-fitting gown, I knew it was going to be the most wonderful fit with the antique buildings of downtown Charleston.
From the Bride… As we planned our wedding, our goal was to create a time where we could celebrate with friends and family. Although we both grew up in other parts of the country, our relationship has grown in Charleston. We chose to celebrate at Alhambra Hall so that everyone could experience being on the water and beauty of our city. The perfect weather and beautiful venue made everything that much more amazing. We made most of the decorations ourselves including a chalkboard sign for the wedding program and our invitations. Looking back, we really enjoyed the time with just the two of us during our “first look”, it was a break from the craziness of the day when we could be alone with each other. Another highlight for us was watching the sunset over the water while Finnegan Bell and Casey’s dad sang during the cocktail hour.
