Classic NYC Wedding

It doesn’t get much cooler than a classic NYC wedding.  Well, until you set it against a fabulous City Hall Restaurant setting and infuse cultural significance into each and every moment.  That, my friends, turns any classic wedding into a day that is the epitome of stunning and when you add an entire gallery of lovely from Melissa Kruse, it makes everything that much better.  See it all here.

From Melissa Kruse Photography… This couple was all about three things: family, personal touches, and New York City. Both Anajli and Scott moved to the big city to jump start their careers, and it was there that they went on their first date, started their first home, and yes, said “I do.”

“We love the idea of classic New York,” said Anjali excitedly to me during our first meeting. From the very beginning it was all about black and white with touches of red… and no detail went unnoticed on the day of the wedding. From Saturday’s New York Times in their hotel rooms to portraits through the streets of NYC (yellow cabs, man holes, and all!).

But as big a place as New York can be, and as long a guest list as they had, they somehow managed to have the most intimate wedding. With family traveling from across the country, the vows, the toasts, the hugs, the smiles – every single one was so warm, so genuine, and so completely candid. Personal touches were everywhere, from stunning bouquets created by the bride’s mother, a mini meditation session just before the first look, a family heirloom engagement ring, and a ceremonial remembrance gong.

And to top it off, when Anjali told me she’d be weaving an homage to her Indian heritage through the details of their day, I all but turned to jello. It was the sweetest music to this all-things-from-India-addict’s ears. So with the bindi, henna, bangles, and red accents in lieu of the traditional red dress (a white dress was a must for this modern bride) I was in definitely in my happy place.
