Today is a lesson in natural beauty captured in wedding form. The couple took the stunning Oregon locale and somehow managed to bottle up all the beauty that Mother Nature had put in place on the day and sprinkle it all over their beautiful wedding, all of which captured brilliantly by Altura Studio!
From the Altura Studio… Some things turn out even better than you hope they might. Heather and Aaron’s wedding at Black Butte Ranch was exactly like that. John and I both knew that the wedding would be lovely–Heather is so warm and kind and charming to photograph. Aaron is such a good guy: steady and present and head-over-heels about Heather. But what we didn’t expect, didn’t even know to hope for, was the enormous love and happiness that spilled out into this day. Family, parents, children, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends from near and friends from far –all wishing the best of love and life for Aaron and Heather as they said their vows under the trees. Everyone was so happy for them. Everyone was so happy with them. For a photographer, when a wedding feels that special, taking pictures feels like picking flowers.
The wedding day details were a pleasure to photograph. The mountain setting on its own is spectacular, but the pretty floral details added a special-day feeling. The aisles were decked with clusters of blue thistle. The groom’s boutonniere was a simple cluster of lavender flowers. The florist created delightful table arrangements, a variety of types including old fashioned roses in vintage tins, solo hydrangea flowers, grapes or other fruits, as well as wine corks and bottles as table numbers in a nod to the groom’s involvement in the wine industry.
After the ceremony guests toasted the couple with wines from Aaron’s vineyards. Instead of signing a traditional book, guests wrote their well wishes on a magnum-sized wine bottle. And as the evening turned golden, Aaron and Heather danced to “A Sunday Kind of Love.”
