Colorful Indian Wedding

This wedding is insanely beautiful.  But that’s not surprising, considering it’s a gold, pink and red infused cultural beauty crafted by one seriously talented team of Texas vendors.  Think Posey Floral and Event DesignCaroline + Ben Photography and 36th Street Events, all coming together to create a day that highlights true love and one of the cutest duos you will ever meet.  See it all here in the full gallery.

And a sweet film from Photohouse Films… awesome.

From the Bride… We met in Tokyo in 2005. We were both teaching English. We were good friends at first but we both knew there was something more to it and in 2006 we became a couple.

Our theme started off as “light” but I think as it progressed when we found our quote (“We went to find ourselves and found each other”) and that became the theme, as it was on our invitations, our sign and our video.

We made the bar signs (“Are you Reddy for a night Phull of fun?”), the escort table signs and escort cards which were based on the skylines of our respective home cities (London, Chicago) and the city we met in (Tokyo).

Our planner Beth made the main marquee sign which was the centerpiece for the room. It contained our quote – “We went to find ourselves and found each other.”

We bought some speech bubble white and chalk boards from Etsy so people could write down their marital advice and take pictures of themselves.

We also asked a friend to put together a video of pictures of us growing up with our friends and families and then us together with each other’s friends and families which we played before our entrance to the reception hall.

We found having a wedding planner was key. Especially seen as it was a location wedding. Also, we used the website wedsimple.com to keep our guests informed through our website, to do our RSVPs and keep tabs on who was coming.

My favorite moment of the day was peeping through the doors just before our entrance into the reception hall, watching all of our guests laughing (and crying) at our video.

My biggest piece of advice for brides and grooms planning their wedding today: You will not please everyone. Don’t try to.
