Rustic Meets Preppy North Carolina Wedding at Claxton Farm

This wedding is SO much fun. It’s rustic barn wedding meets Lilly Pulitzer-wearing bridesmaids, which turns out to be a total match made in heaven. Rustic prep might just be my new favorite wedding category. With Claxton Farm setting the pretty scene and Stephanie Yonce snapping up the gorgeous pictures, it goes without saying this gallery is simply fabulous.

From Stephanie Yonce Photography...Celebrating a September engagement, Alyssa and Pascal knew that wedding the following fall would be just perfect. After visiting Claxton Farms, Alyssa and Pascal quickly realized it was the perfect venue to set the stage for their whimsical and rustic vision.

The couple hoped for a wedding that was truly personalized from start to finish. Incorporating wine barrels, hay, and cork into the decor lent itself to the rustic vision, while the lace, bright flowers, and twinkly lights gave the day the whimsical feel they had desired. The two also decided on a signature drink, “Teddy Tea-tini,” in honor of their beloved Bichon, Teddy, who was unable to make an appearance the day of their wedding festivities. Being self-professed sugar addicts, it may come as no surprise that candy served as its own theme, with each table being named after their favorite candy, while also featuring a mason jar filled to the brim with their favorite treats.

The Appalachian Mountains served as their backdrop, and the lovely weather allowed the couple to take full advantage of the idyllic landscape on their wedding day. The guests danced into the evening to the sounds of bluegrass music while also enjoying cooking s’mores over a fire pit. As a parting gift, guests were given koozies designed by Pascal featuring the state of North Carolina with a small heart over Asheville.

Alyssa looks fondly back on their first look, as well as the moment her parents saw her for the first time that day. Pascal loved watching Alyssa walk down the aisle with her father, as well as the final gathering of friends and family for the sparkler exit.

As for advice for future brides, Alyssa shares, “Enjoy the process. Pascal and I promised once we started the planning that we would have fun throughout the process. We didn’t want to get to the end and have this huge relief that it was over. We wanted to enjoy it the whole way through. Just remember that at the end of the day, it is all about love. The love you have for each other and the love for your family and friends. It was amazing to look out and see all the people that we love so much there!
