Fall Wedding at the Arizona Inn

We swooned over this stunning couple’s engagement shoot last year, so when I saw that Andrea Eppolito Events had planned their fall wedding and sent it our way, I was practically begging for Raylene Streuber Photography’s photos of the day. As you’re about to see, they most definitely did not disappoint.

From the stunning bride… I love fall, and my dream was always to have a fall inspired wedding with lots of color, pumpkins, and personality. Brian and I wanted the wedding to feel like us, and so bent tradition a bit and instead of a cake, we offered a pie bar. We had an awesome jazz band play the cocktail hour as a nod to my (first) degree in music, and we had our centerpieces set up on piles of books that we love – a little nod to the fact that I was reading when we met, and that we took our engagement pictures in a library. Thanks to my wedding planner for making that suggestion! We even had guests sign their favorite recipe in the William Sonoma cook books we received as a part of our registry!

The standout detail, for me, was the pumpkins. Having had a love affair with pumpkins for most of my life, I had to find a way to bring them into the wedding. After trying over and over again to bring them into the design without making the wedding look too much like Halloween I finally decided to purchase pumpkins from Hobby Lobby and create custom designs myself! With the help of some paint, a stencil, and a dremel tool – not to mention many late nights and many hours – I finally had the white pumpkins of my dreams. They were set at the entry way of the ceremony and I got to walk through them on my way to the alter. Afterwards, our wedding planner moved them to our reception, and seeing them made me so happy.

The other thing that was really important to us was that we celebrated Tucson. It’s where Brian is originally from, and it’s been my adopted home for over 5 years. With Brian being stationed out of state, we moved immediately after the wedding, and wanted one last desert party. We selected the Arizona Inn because it is historic and a staple of the community. The pink was so pretty, and the staff was incredible. Our favors were biscuits made my a local at the organic farmer’s market, and we encouraged our out of state guests to see old Tucson by setting up our rehearsal dinner downtown.

Brian and I left for our honeymoon immediately after the wedding, and moved from Tucson to Port Angeles, WA on our return. Our wedding was the perfect way to say goodbye to the city where we met and fell in love.
