From the Bride…It was way back in 1996 where we both performed in the closing ceremony of the Atlanta Olympics. Both in high school I always had a crush on Chris even in his vintage Hawaiian shirts and chesty bonds singlets. Fast track to 2009 and thanks to the wonders of Facebook we were reunited.
Chris was living in Toronto,Canada, cooking and I was traveling to LA once a week as a flight attendant. This began our nine months of non-stop Skype and text messaging across the continent. I’ll never forget the day that Chris called me in LA and told me he was moving back to Australia. That was Christmas of 2009 and we’ve been inseparable ever since.
Our wedding took place in Bowral in the southern highlands of NSW. With Chris being a chef, great food was high on the list of priorities! Biota was just perfect! All the food and wine are sourced locally with some even being grown on the premises. It was important for Chris and I to involve everyone as much as possible.
My mum made my dress, Chris’ mum made the jam for the favours. His sister in law Kirsten made some of the desserts (best cheesecake ever)! We were married by our friend from Canada, Brett. My brother Danny sang as I walked down the aisle. Our friend Nick was our Dj for the evening and our friend Phillipa flew over from Canada to photograph the wedding. It was a magical day filled with friends, family and a lot of love!
