From Southern Productions weddings & events… Alicia and Michael were married on the eve of her parents fiftieth wedding anniversary and knew they wanted to include them in this joyous occasion. When Alicia came to me we started planning right away for the “double wedding” before her parents even knew about the “double” part! Once she informed them there was no saying no at this point! Alicia loves her parents so much and it was the sweetest thing to me that she wanted the day to be as much about them as well as her, Michael and her two children.

The ceremony took place under a majestic live oak tree on the Davis property. The location was a special place to the bride as a child. An image of the tree aptly served as a central theme throughout the event; symbolizing roots of home, strength of family and time for growth. The tree was exquisitely decorated with five suspended chandeliers. Antique wooden church pews were set beneath the tree providing the unique ambiance of an outdoor church sanctuary. This stunning setting also provided a perfect occasion for the bride’s parents to lovingly reaffirm their marriage vows in celebration of their fiftieth wedding anniversary. To celebrate the bride’s parent’s “Golden” anniversary and in honor of sharing the special date, thoughtful gold accents were used throughout the event.

Following the ceremony, guests easily moved to a reception held on the Davis property directly behind the grand house. Cocktail hour music was provided by DJ, Feel the Beat as guests mingled around a glowing pool with illuminated floating orbs. A light and refreshing New Orleans libation, the Pimm’s Cup, was offered as the signature drink. Guests enjoyed a delectable menu by Pretty Presentations Catering and were treated to late night butler passed sweet potato beignets served with brandy Alexander and/or milk shots.

The children had their own special “Kids Tent” that was accented with colorful chandeliers and included a children’s cake, candy buffet, caricature artist, corn toss, glow sticks and sparklers galore. The children dined on mini sliders, fried chicken tenders, gourmet mac and cheese, french fries with ketchup shots.

Better Than Ezra took the stage for a lively night of fun that had everyone on the dance floor. The stage and classic white dance floor were situated under a large fabric draped tent filled with hanging chandeliers and patterned lighting. Several comfy lounge areas beckoned beneath glowing chandeliers suspended from trees outlining the property. Seating was provided with soft white leather couches and deep leather arm chairs flanked with lit end tables amid flowing white drapery.

After the rousing dance party, guests released fire lit sky lanterns which served as the evening’s peaceful and stunning grand finale.
