From the Bride… After two months of dating, my husband asked my parents for my hand in marriage. They said no, and to wait until a year to ask again. But after another four months he couldn’t wait and asked my parents again – they said yes. A week later, after returning from a holiday in Noosa, Val picked me up from the airport and told me we where going to Mt. Buller for the night. Once we settled it was around 10pm and he was in a huge rush to walk up the mountain. After we reached the top of the first run there was a freshly groomed area, which I found out later he had organized. He said this is perfect to do a snow angel, which I had never done and was so excited to do. We both lay next to each other and did our snow angles and as he pulled me up he went back down and he was on one knee – and before opening the box I said yes. We found out five weeks later that I was pregnant.

We choose Campbell Point House, as it was a little different to the other wedding we had been to in the past as well as being very private and exclusive. We had a specific caterer and wedding designer that we wanted to use and other venues were too restrictive.  We also wanted to make a week of it to spend time as a couple and with our bridesmaids and grooms and have dinners and cocktail parties leading up to it. Some guests were from interstate and international so having the venue for a week allowed us to catch up with everyone on separate days without having to say hi to EVERYONE on the wedding day.

There wasn’t really any inspiration as I’m an interior designer and wanted everything (ha-ha), so going by my dress and the venue the team from the style co and the caterers from Tommy Collins we came up with a vintage garden party with a modern flair. As a duo, Tommy Collins Catering and The Style Co worked amazingly well together and really took our requests and taste to heart and expressed them with ease.

We had a very traditional ceremony coming from a Catholic background and kept with tradition through the ceremony, but the reception was one big party with share plates of amazing food and dessert accompanied by an espresso martini fountain!

The day was so quick and such a blur, but our most vivid memory we both share was when I was walking down the aisle, and our first dance, which we had had two months of dance classes to prepare for.

Our favorite capture of the day was the groomsmen jumping in the pool before the wedding and our first kiss. But the wedding video by Andrew Harrington was amazing and represented the day in a beautiful and personal way that we get to relive the day every time we watch it.
