Everybody has those photographers who capture the work that speaks to their soul and Docuvitae is that for me. The way they capture emotion is unbelievable. I fell hard for the emotion (and not to mention the stunning design) of this wedding, all thanks to the lovely team at Docuvitae!
From the happy couple… We both shudder at the thought of what a disaster our wedding would have been without Hannah & Day of Gal. We were so nervous on our wedding day that we did not want to think of a single detail of the wedding and, thanks to Hannah, we did not have to. Her enthusiasm, knowledge and professionalism were constant comforts to us throughout the process and were we to do it all over again, she would be the first person we would hire.
We took care of a lot of the smaller things. We bought our own table linens from a local flea market, borrowed a bunch of milk glass for the flowers from a friend, printed our own place settings, that kind of thing. It’s fun to tick all those things off your to-do list ahead of time.
Casual and fun. That’s what we were going for from the beginning. We’d heard so many horror stories about how stressful and difficult wedding planning could be that we were determined to not let it define our experience. We judged every vendor that we met with by the quality of their service, sure, but also whether we felt more or less stressed after we met with them. We loved Gilberto from Chichén Itzá for his delicious food and his laid back manner. The Docuvitae crew (photographers), Clementine Floral Works, Hannah from Day of Gal, everyone was united by their kind, friendly demeanor and their no-drama professionalism. It all added up to us being able to relax and just have FUN during the wedding. Our DJ, Anthony from Red Shoes, kept us moving all night and I could not have been happier to see old friends, parents and siblings, aunts and uncles and even grandparents crowding the dance floor and just enjoying themselves. It was a magical night and I wouldn’t change a thing.
