From Events by Inee… Kevin and Debbie are such a perfect example of modern romance. They are both extremely accomplished and focused on their careers, but when the day is done and it’s just the two of them- they are filled with so much love and respect for one another. They’re loving and silly and genuinely enjoy every waking moment together. I would often find Kevin staring adoringly at his bride-to-be and Debbie was constantly striving to choose details that she knew Kevin would enjoy. It was a beautiful thing to see and it made planning this wedding that much more special.

The wedding was at the beautiful Franciscan Gardens, an intimate courtyard nestled within the bustling downtown of San Juan Capistrano. At our first meeting in early January, they talked about having a December wedding since they couldn’t imagine being able to plan a wedding for any earlier. As they started to share more about themselves (hating the cold, loving outdoor weddings), I knew that I was dealing with a summer wedding couple. All Kevin and Debbie wanted from their wedding was good food, great desserts, and an unforgettable party under the stars and twinkle lights with their dearest friends. We were able to get all that and more at Franciscan Gardens, the perfect venue for modern romance. Romantic touches of hand-written menus, baby’s breaths, and candlelight were intricately woven with modern details of an energetic photo booth, a beautifully unconventional wedding dress, and splashes of electric robin’s egg blue. It was a perfect balance, just like the couple!

From the stunning bride… I was actually really hesitant about the dress when I first saw it and tried it on. Inee found the dress and thought it would be perfect, so that’s how I learned about the designer. Over time, the dress grew on me! I realized big, princess-y dresses were just not my style and I also loved how unique it was. Looking back, I can’t imagine having worn another dress down the aisle. I guess my wedding planner knew me better than I did!
