So, this stunning bride and groom live in Las Vegas (as do I) and gathered their closest friends and family for a breathtaking cliffside wedding in Australia. Hmm… I think they might be on to something. Because if there’s one way I would want to say “I do,” it’s perched atop this awe-inspiring paradise with an amazing team of vendors at my side. From the Bride… I knew I wanted an intimate destination wedding and I have family in Australia, so it seemed ideal to have it there. I absolutely fell in love with the idea of having an outdoor cliffside wedding after finding Jonah’s online. I wanted modern, I wanted vintage, I wanted natural. It was painful planning with vendors from the opposite side of the world especially since our daytime is their nighttime, but it all worked out. I got exactly what I wanted… an absolutely stunning wedding day I will never forget!
From Brian Saculles… It was a beautiful fall day in the northern beaches of Australia, March 29, 2013. The soft diffuse light made for the perfect situation to shoot film. The bride and groom got ready at a three story bed and breakfast with a oriental inspired garden in the back and breathtaking views of the pacific ocean in front. Liz slipped into her modern vintage Alfred Angelo dress adorned with crystal beading, pearls, lace and satin flowers; an opening in back as the center piece of the design. The Twigs and Honey handmade headpiece was a stunning accent. We then drove to Jonah’s by the Beach and proceeded to the cliffside area for a non denomination ceremony.
Liz had a cascading bouquet of mixed colored orchids with white roses and succulent plants as she walked down the isle with her father in arm, her eyes fixated on the love of her life. It was definitely a “wow” moment as I and the small group of family and close friends watched Liz and Josh tie the knot overlooking the Australian beaches and blue waters.
During the formal pictures, my eye was drawn to the bright colored Samoan dresses worn by Liz’s family which displayed their strong sense of heritage. After picture taking retreated to the Jonah’s restaurant for our meals. The food was a work of art itself and the dessert tasting table was literally eye candy. The table pieces were made of driftwood with more orchids, succulent plants and splashes of peat moss to streamline the floral concept by CocCo floral designs. Another floral piece resting upon a small column was a small mountain of peat moss with natural wood branches extending upwards towards the sky with purple orchids coming from the top of the mound and green orchids tumbling off to the side. I couldn’t resist more pictures of the gorgeous couple on the restaurant terrace overlooking the picturesque Whale Beach while guests indulged in the sweets.
Succeeding the dancing, a few speeches and some cake cutting we all strolled to a nearby park where Liz wanted to send off some chinese lanterns to seal the occasion right before dusk. Drawing much of her inspiration from Pinterest, and choosing her “Down Unda” vendors merely from reviews and the internet, I think Liz did an amazing job planning this destination wedding from Las Vegas. Her vision come to reality was purely magical and it was an honor to capture it.
