Pink + Gold New York Botanical Gardens Wedding

There’s something about a beautiful wedding that takes me away from my desk and into the party. I can almost hear the laughter, smell the cake, feel the love through Elisabeth Millay’s photos, and I have zero complaints about my midday jaunt to NYC because this wedding? This wedding is pink perfection.

From the stunning bride… Evan and I met 10 years ago as counselors at a summer camp. Early in our relationship we knew that we would get married one day but when it came time to choosing a venue we had a hard time finding our match. However, from the moment we laid eyes on the quaint and intimate Lillian and Amy Goldman Stone Mill at the New York Botanical Gardens we knew we had found the perfect location to say, “I do”. The historic stone building and Bronx river provided a stunning backdrop for our family and friends to share and celebrate the happiest and most wonderful day in our lives.

Our day was perfect and all of the little details that I had agonized over and second guessed myself on for a year and a half finally came together before my eyes. From the dozens of absurd craft projects I assigned to my matron of honor (including making covered buttons for the back of my dress when the seamstress told me it would be impossible) to the invitations, programs and menus I designed myself to the herbs that Evan grew from seedlings for the escort cards to the table numbers a co-worker hand cut from wood and glittered for us to the countless other favors and contributions — this wedding was a true labor of love.

We could not have asked for a more special day — everyone we hired was so amazing, accommodating and genuinely made us feel like royalty. I am gluten intolerant and our venue coordinator, Stephanie, helped us put together a menu that was mostly gluten free and she even had a mini gluten free wedding cake created just for me so I wouldn’t miss out during our cake cutting! Our wedding felt like a dream and if I didn’t have photos to prove it actually happened, I’d swear I had made it up!

Ironically, after all the intricate planning and DIY-ing my favorite memories of the day were the quiet moments I shared with my closest friends and family and of course the hours we all spent dancing the night away!
