Evergreen Winter Wedding Inspiration

It may be March, but New England is stuck in what feels like a perpetual state of winter. Then again, when you’re swooning a winter-loving shoot as gorgeous as this, embracing the cold doesn’t seems so bad. With frost-covered foliage and rustic driven details, Luxe Event Productions made this a winter bride’s dream-come-true. Find every snap from Hazelwood Photo tucked right here.

From Luxe Event Productions… Crisp cold winter air and foggy frost covered foliage have become our playground in the NW this season. Record dryness and fog have graced us with it’s chill since right after the holiday, craving for more frost, ice and snow the team at Luxe Event Production dreamed up a magical and Narnia-like winter wedding inspiration shoot to cure our need to be surrounded by powdery white snow. Since it doesn’t really snow much in the Valley of Portland, Oregon we trekked up to Mt. Hood to scout the perfect location that we could not only design a scene around but that would also bring to life our idea and theme: Winter Evergreen.

Think, dry crisp winter air, frosted pines and spruce, frozen ponds and abandon snow shacks -coupled with warmth and whimsy. Using very very little floral and just a cedar garland with nestled vintage garnet glass for the table, we set out to capture the magic that is winter. Cozy sherpa blankets, furs, ice skates and natural juniper stole the scene. From our custom designed wedding gown by Holly Stalder to our vintage ice shoes and rusty orbs this shoot was one for the books. We had so much fun in the snow (2 feet of it to be exact!). We found the perfect place nestled deep in the pines where we set the scene in front of an abandon snow shack which sat right in front of a frozen pond. The raw untouched beauty of our surroundings was a quintessential winterscape that had us reeling in it’s splendor for days after the shoot.

Using Classic Vintage Rentals Robert Farm Table we coupled it with their Franklin wood chairs and their Doyle folding wood bench. Winter cedar garland from Luxe Event Productions lay cold down the center of the table; adding warmth we snuggled amist the green Classic Vintage Rentals assorted brass candle sticks and Luxe Event Productions vintage garnet pedestal votives. Swoon Floral Design added a touch of fresh juniper and fluted gold chargers with classic white plates and settings allowed our cut crystal to be the glitz of the table -using specialty glassware is just one way to add a little originality to your design in a very cost-effective way. We were having so much fun we set two tablescapes, you’ll see that we swaped chargers for Classic Vintage Rentals gold rim plates and a beautiful winter floral arrangement from Swoon in the center. Huddled around the settings we added dry pine cones and raw wax candles, which was simple yet whimsical set atop natural wood.

Our other scene was set with a classic Champagne Bar, designed and styled by Luxe Event Productions. Inspired by the Plaza Hotel we used vintage glassware from Luxe Event Productions and Classic Vintage Rentals Weston Cabinet. Silver and brass champagne buckets, mirrored serving trays and a little bubbly stole the show once finished with Swoon Floral Design’s winter greens. Using Vintage Furniture like this cabinet is inexpensive but adds a ton of authenticity to your look. Consider adding elements like these next to your bar, as your dessert display and even altar.

What was set out to be just a couple hours ended up being an entire day of winter evergreen laden design. The combination of fire and ice and the mist from the frozen pond married with the glitz of a custom wedding gown and champagne bar led us to slumbers full of wintery dreams for the rest of the week.

Huge THANK YOU to all who participated in this idea with us. It was months in the making and we couldn’t be excited about how it turned out. Thank you, all of you for all your hard work and endless ideas.
