From the Bride…Our magical day took place on Friday, September 6th, 2013. Our event took place at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon, CA. We fell in love with this venue and it was the perfect location to have our dream wedding. With both of us being raised in the Silicon Valley we really wanted to have our wedding in the Bay Area.

With Kent’s family being in the antiquing business and my grandfather being a picker it was only natural for us to have a rustic vintage themed wedding and we really wanted to showcase our union together.

Since we were our own wedding planner, we relied heavily on our family and friends for help. We both love to travel so with the help of our florist Jinger from The Flower House and PJ from Milk Glass Rentals we acquired beautiful vintage suitcases for our wedding. All the furniture from the candy bar to the cake table was from my in-laws antique store Timeless Treasures. The suitcases were displayed all around our wedding from the front aisle for the ceremony to the gift table as a card box. For our ceremony we opted out of the traditional flower arches and went with a rustic door with a beautiful flower arraignment from The Flower House. The door really symbolized our next chapter together as husband and wife.

Small details were very important to me for the ceremony I really wanted it to be rustic but romantic. Every other aisle had beautiful flowers in mason jars. We both love the Disney Movie Up so I really wanted to incorporate that with some geronimo balloons with beautiful garlands. Our handmade ceremony cards were placed in rustic pales to keep with the theme. My sister hand wrote “pick a seat not a side today we are all family” on an antique chalkboard to bring both families together. A close friend of ours handmade each bow ties for the groom and groomsmen’s. Both Kent and I are huge Star Wars and Superhero fans so the bow ties added a little twist of that in our wedding.

We wanted the reception to be very intimate. We chose warm greens and golds for the table linens and setting and at every table setting there was a thank you card and menu cards for each guest. The flower arrangements kept to our rustic theme as well as the moss branches. If anyone knows Kent he has quite the sweet tooth so I choose all of his favorite candies for the candy bar. The bags for the candy bar was hand stamped with our initials as well as “love is sweet.” Our wedding day went off without a hitch thanks to our amazing vendors. My special day was perfect and it turned out even better than I had imagined it.
