It’s a well-known fact that Idaho is a magical place. The kind of state where saying “I do” in a rustic meets awesome affair is totally commonplace… and exactly the reason this adorable duo ventured from the East Coast to the beautiful Shore Lodge to tie the knot with their awesome friends and family. From Tana Photography… Wanting a lakeside lodge wedding, Jessica and Christian, an East Coast couple, brought their family and guests to Payette Lake, in McCall Idaho, where the bride’s family spends their summers. The couple, who work in NYC, envisioned a natural, simple event with personal and vintage touches. Rustic, natural elements of Idaho were combined with personalized details to keep the day their own. Jessica, who loves anything vintage, was so excited to wear her 1970’s wedding dress she’d found in a local popular vintage shop, and they both wore cherished accessories that were passed down from their grandparents. The groom wore a 70’s vintage suit and Armani “smoking jacket” that were passed down from his father.
Amongst all of the natural colors at the lake, the couple used colorful minty blue and coral pink in the bridesmaids dresses to make them “pop.” Friendship gifts from the bride were handmade by a friend who couldn’t attend, and these dress-belts and the hair accessories were worn by the bridesmaids on the wedding day.
The wedding gave a nod to the groom’s Danish heritage with a customary Kransekage wedding cake, and brought in the elements of the bride’s family summers at the lake with pine and cedar in their wedding arch, plus added succulents in all of their bouquets and centerpieces. Rounding out the floral were eucalyptus, sedum, dusty miller, larkspur, baby’s breath and Queen Anne’s lace to bring in some texture.
An artistic and unique touch was the string-art Idaho map holding the card placers/seating for the guests, which now hangs in the couple’s home as artwork.
