From the Bride…Taylor and I met in college as blind dates to one of my sorority’s events. Despite that most unlikely of starts, we knew we had something special. We dated all through college, and even when I left campus for my semester abroad in Paris, Taylor traveled to visit me. We had an amazing time in Paris and always considered it a very special place for us.

Seven years later, now living in New York, I had planned to take some time off for the 4th of July to escape the city by way of my parents’ lake house. Little did I know, Taylor had completely different plans. I woke up early in the morning with the intention of catching the first train out, but Taylor stopped me and told me that we instead were going to the international airport. I was so confused that Taylor had to abandon his plans to keep our mystery destination a secret until we got to the airport. Instead, he told me right there that we were going to Paris. I’m so glad he did, because I would have ended up in Paris with only flip-flops and cut-off shorts! Taylor planned an amazing trip for us, complete with romantic dinners and opera tickets. The day after we arrived, he took me on a walk along the Seine. We tried to find the same bench where we had picnicked during his visit seven years ago. When we found it, I sat down, but Taylor went down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It couldn’t have been more perfect!

I’ve always known that I wanted to get married in my home state of Connecticut, but other than that, I had never really thought through how my wedding would be. But then, I found my blush pink lace wedding dress, and it inspired the rest of the wedding design. Stacie from Stacie Shea events helped us plan a beautiful event inspired by the blush color and lace on my dress. I’m so thrilled with how everything turned out.

Above all, we wanted to have a really fun party, and that’s what we got! Our band, Character Zoo, got everyone on the dance floor and the photo booth was a major hit. My mom and I designed a guest book where guests would stick in a photo from the photo booth and write us a message. Now, after the wedding, it’s a fantastic photo album for us to have!
