Whisper Lane Dittoe’s name around SMP HQ, and you’ll hear the pitter patter of the keyboards come to an abrupt halt. We are borderline obsessed with his work, and this Santa Barbara beauty is the perfect example of why. It’s a gorgeous day captured in a way that will make your heart leap, and there is even more gorgeous waiting for you right here.
From the Bride…Grant and I met in San Diego and spent many of our early adventures in Santa Barbara so when we got engaged we both immediately knew we wanted our celebration in its wine country of Santa Ynez. It was important to us that we had a wedding that truly reflected our relationship and personalities, and we searched high and low for the perfect venue and when we came across Apple Creek Ranch we knew it was the one. The venue felt warm, enticing, rustic and oh so romantic. The perfect setting for us to be married!
We spent 12 months planning the perfect rustic elegant wedding complete with a barn, vineyard and complementing gold accents. Adding details and color was my favorite part of the planning process, we added rich, bold florals with an eclectic mix of proteas, peonies and wide flowers to compliment the natural vibe of the ranch. Gold candles were a must and I am still in love with the bridesmaids dress color!
The ceremony was very important to us, we wanted it to feel genuine and reflect our relationship. Instead of sticking with tradition, we decided to write our own vows, integrate personal readings into the service and include our mothers with a candle ceremony. Hearing my husband-to-be pouring our his heart while being surrounded by our family and close friends was a dream come true!
Our reception was meant to feel like a gathering of close friends and family and that our guests felt comfortable and could really enjoy the evening – and much to our surprise, it really felt that way! The evening was complete with a fantastic family style dinner, local Santa Ynez beer and wine, and a San Diego band that brought everything together.
