From the Bride… Tim and I were married on June 8th, 2013 in Toronto, Canada. We wanted a wedding that was simple, elegant and fun- we wanted it to be classic and timeless, yet represent who we are as a couple- colourful and madly in love!

Our ceremony was held at Trinity Chapel- a gorgeous, intimate chapel in the heart of downtown Toronto. The sun shone in through the enormous stained glass windows at Trinity Chapel just as we were saying our vows- we couldn’t stop smiling. After we were pronounced husband and wife, a bag piper entered from the side entrance of the Chapel to surprise our guests and lead us out of the church – it was a very emotional and overwhelming moment- something I will hold with me forever. Our reception was across the street at the Gardiner Museum, and was a modern contrast to the setting of our classic nuptials. Tim and I had always dreamed of walking across University Avenue, amongst all of the hustle and bustle, with a bag piper (a nod to our Scottish roots) leading us hand in hand on a beautiful summer evening. However the highlight ended up being all of our friends and family gathered on the balcony at the Gardiner Museum, welcoming us with cheers, smiles and lots of love – It was a very special moment that our photographers captured beautifully!

We were also lucky to have several very personal touches throughout the evening- an accomplished opera singer (a dear friend) sang Panis Angelicus during our signing, my cousin (an award winning Saxophone player) entertained our guests with classic jazz during cocktail hour, and then Tim surprised me with a guitar song that he had written specially for the day.

It was a magical day, that flew by much too quickly, but the most important part was that I got to marry the most incredible man. I am a lucky girl!
