Jessica and Matteen’s wedding was held over two days. As the family is from the Baha’i faith they truly wanted to enjoy their ceremony together with their family and close friends at the groom’s parents private estate at the Serpentine National Park, one hour’s drive from the city of Perth Western Australia.

With winter still present, they decided to hold the ceremony inside but giving everyone the feeling of spring without obstructing the view to the lake. Garlands draped around the wooden windows was the perfect answer. The massive staircase was draped with flowers as this was the first thing guests would see upon their arrival and also the bride would walk down as an aisle.

With the bride originally from South Africa and the Groom from Persia, many guests came from far away to celebrate with Jessica and Matteen. Jessica had chosen her sister Tayla to be her Maid of Honour and Matteen his brother Malek.

DAY ONE

A beautiful ceremony with lots of singing, drums and music from the bride and grooms friends ended with a surprise celebration dance by the bride and groom.

The bride and groom did not wanted one wedding cake and replaced them with many delicious cakes such as banana Cake, black forest cake, carrot cake, pistachio and raspberry flan and many different kind of biscuits. Jessica chose to wear gum boots for some photos outside as she did not wanted her dress too dirty for the following day. Family and guests enjoyed each other’s company for the rest of the day while eating and listening to music played by friends.

DAY TWO

The big reception with 300 guests was held at the State Reception Centre in Kings Park.  The venue has fantastic views overlooking the city and Kings Park. The spring theme was continued with flowers such as Hyrdrangea (silk), Garden Roses, Spray Roses, Ranunculas, Tulips, Delphiniums, Sweet Peas, Jasmine and other seasonal blooms.

The stationery had elegant water coloured flowers which was carried throughout the wedding. Oversized place cards and a giant seating chart certainly helped every guest to find their seat.

The guests book was a huge world map and because many guests came from around the world it certainly was interesting to see on the end of the night where everyone came from.

Speeches throughout the night, a huge menu and an African and Persian drummer’s performance certainly made the evening special to Jessica and Matteen.
